DUO Modern was built around a simple idea. Create a place where people want to gather. DUO Modern has become a place people return to season after season.

The Beginning of Market Hill

DUO is part of the larger vision behind Market Hill, created by Paul Michael and his wife, Debbie Michael.

Market Hill changed what people expected from Round Top. It brought together antiques, design, and a sense of place that felt intentional from the start. As the property grew, the need for a restaurant that matched that level became obvious.

DUO was built to meet that moment.

The image shows a dining area with a long wooden table set with napkins, glasses, and small lamps. There are multiple black chairs around the table. The background features large glass windows, green lamps, wooden frames, and decorative light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. Artwork and additional lighting are also visible.

What Comes Next

Today, DUO continues under the direction of Jake Michael.

The focus is not on reinventing everything. It is on refining what already works. Better menus. Stronger consistency. A clearer identity as a year-round restaurant in Round Top.

Dining in Round Top, Now

For years, Round Top was seasonal. Busy during the shows, quiet the rest of the time. That has changed.

DUO is part of a new rhythm in town. A place where locals and visitors mix. Where brunch turns into afternoon drinks. Where dinners stretch longer than expected.

It is not just about being open year-round. It is about being worth coming back for.
